Does anyone have any idea what can be wrong with my Xenon lights :
Unlocking the car, everything is turned OFF, starting the car - it's all normal ........ then after maybe 2 minutes or so the Xenon lights [both L/R] are turned ON - BY THEM SELF [ NOTE: the light switch is turned to "0" ZERO position - it is straight UP to the OFF " O " during that time] ..... can not understand how's that even possible for the lights to come ON and OFF by them self when the switch is not even turned ON to lights .... :confused:
sure many times I did searched at the Archives + all other BMW forums + at Google and nothing at all on that particular strange problem ......
For example the Xenons are coming ON by them self for like 4 seconds and then they are switched OFF - AGAIN BY THEM SELF ...... There is no blinking from the lights during that time, also I had notice when they are ON all other lights: like the rear tails, the dash/ radio/ hvac they all are also turned ON [the way as normally they are ON when the lights are switched ON], but only the corner front amber lights are NOT turned on during that time .
That story does repeat itself at different time intervals for different time length - e.g. lets say they can come ON and OFF after 3 minutes [ again by them self], but this time for 2 seconds time period, then after that - after 1 minute they will come ON again, but this time for 6 second and so on ... [ after 5 min. for 1 sec, after 2 min. for 5 sec. ....... all at different time intervals for different time length - whenever they like :hmm:].
I did "test" by turning the light switch to ON [ as when turning the lights to on normally and is all normal ...... the lights does come ON], but during the time when they are ON it does happen exactly the opposite from the above: the Xenons then do switch THEM SELF OFF [ at that time the dash/ hvac/ radio and so on other lights are also switched OFF] ..... have not notice about the corner lights if they are off or not during that time ......] - just strange......
Note:
The LCM switch/ knob is NOT lose, it does work fine ...... the lcm is original and was never been tampered or removed or any water spilled on it ... all original on the car and all STOCK.
Not ever or other electrical issues.
The car does have low miles hardly ever driven - garaged and so far had that problem for many years ...
Got New Batt. OEM [the previous battery was also OEM ... all 4 or so in total where OEM batteries ...].
The Batt. is fully charged - the +/- posts are clean and tied well.
Got the 1.4 scanner [from E-bay to see what codes can find out], but no codes at all .... did the dash/ lights tests and it's all fine.
No ground problems from the tails and no lose wires anywhere ............ no fuse problems....
The 20 sec. home path lights [ from the stalk ] are working fine ..., same with the alarm flash lights, the Long beam lights, the fogs, the blinkers, the emergency flashers - ALL works fine ......
