Wildwon325 - just don't

Looks like he only has 2 posts so I'm not sure how worried I am about him. He was going to buy a vert hardtop off of me and said he was extremely interested. We talked for a week. Set up a date. I ordered some extra parts for him. He said he was bringing cash. The day comes and he says he is held up at work and asks to reschedule for the next day. I say sure and he says he will text me at 12 and come at 3. The next day I text him several times, no response. Simply vanishes. Now I have to travel all the way back and store the hardtop, not to mention the extra parts I ordered that I don't need.

5 Speed Shift Knob Question

Did some searching but cant find my answer, seemingly the plastic on mine is broke in my car as i have the shift into second and its in my hand problem. Ill most likely just buy the 5 speed zhp knob from ECS but will it come with the new "guts", or will i need something else.

Do you need work on your BMW?

Hey all!

My name is Ray and I own an Auto Repair Shop in Fort Lauderdale.

We are an all service shop and specialize in European Cars. We have factory tools like the Mercedes SDS and BMW GT1 (amongst other tools) to properly diagnose and work on your car.

I have recently moved down to South Florida from NYC in which I still own a second shop.

We can help you with anything from basic L.O.Fs to VANOS rebuilds, to subframe reinforcements and anything in between.

My shop has 9 Service Bays and 3 Techs plus me.

We are open:

Mo - Fri 8AM to 5PM

Sat 8AM to 12PM

Address:

TAC

4100 Davie Blvd.

Fort Lauderdale, FL, 33317

1 954 581 4540

We also work on almost anything. We've done full engine rebuilds on cars like E55 AMGs to Ford F150s for MK6 VW GTIs or anything in between.

We also offer cheap or free car rentals (depending on the work).

Feel free to stop by and say Hi. Our cost is VERY reasonable, especially for Florida. One thing I learned quickly when I moved down here is that prices here are pretty insane and lots of shops and especially dealerships down here LOVEEEE to rape the working person.

We always take pictures and videos of your car during the work process (if requested).

Here are some pictures and Videos of our current and past work.

This was taken in these last few days.

DIY: Grease shift bushing / Make shifting to reverse easier

My shifter took a lot of force to shift to the left to get into reverse. I changed the transmission fluid and it did not help. Here is how to grease the shifter bushing, which fixed my problem:

  1. Pull hard upwards to remove shift knob

  2. Push in on both sides of the bottom of the leather shift boot and pull up to pop it out. It has 4 plastic clips, 2 on each side.

  3. Pull out grey foam piece

  4. Yank rubber boot out from hole that it is secured into. Takes some force.

  5. Lift edge of rubber boot (it does not come completely off the shifter) to find the shift bushing/ball joint. Mine was bone dry.

  6. Clean the ball joint of old dry grease & dirt. I used a small rag and rubbing alcohol.

  7. Grease the ball joint/shift bushing. I used white lithium grease (yellow color all purpose grease).

  8. Shift around/drive around to move the grease around. Mine got really dirty again, so I cleaned it again and re-greased.

  9. Reassemble in reverse order.

Window Regulator Help!

Okay- first off, I know I'm probably gonna figure this out and feel really stupid. But I'm installing a new window regulator (front, passenger side) on my e46 sedan. I have the regulator installed, but I can not get the actual window attached back to the regulator. I know the red clips are meant to go to the regulator and bolt in, but I can't seem to get it. Please help ASAP!!!
