325 to m3?

So I'm in college and currently own a 2002 325i. I was going to sc it but am now leaning towards selling it and buying an e46 m3. Basically I'm asking whether or not you think upgrading to an m3 would be worth the money. Also should I expect to spend a significantly higher amount of money on maintenance per year than what I spend on my 325?

CCV Hose Diameter Issues?

Hey guys, how are you?



I always check this site out for info but have never been able to join for some reason. It finally worked after YEARS!!!!..lol



Anyway, I was wondering if any of you had or heard of an issue like this.



I recently did my CCV on 2002 325CI. I have small hands but i did not have confidence that I got the hose under manifold on correctly.



I took it apart cause the connection broke and what i did, is I used different hose, fuel or thick rubber hoses and moved the CCV to a different location that I was sure i could connect everything securely using clamps. I am positive that there are no vacuum leaks in that system.



Anyway, i was wondering if any of you think or have done this. If so, with the different diameter of hoses, would that cause me to lose vacuum somewhere, say like the cylinders and piston rings?



I have had a CEL for bank1/2 control limit exceed as well as bank 1/2 trim exceeded. Not sure if they are related to the CCV cause i had them before when CCV went bad and since I wasn't sure if i had attached it correctly the first time, I'm just not sure it's related.



I am thinking i am having a fuel pump issue to cause this but wanted to ask if anyone had experience with different diameter hoses on CCV causing issues.



I figured vacuum is vacuum when it's completely sealed regardless of hose size.



Any input would be appreciated.

Convertible top won't open!!

I originally had a blue top on my car and I swapped it out for a black one, I noticed I broke a micro switch for my tonneau cover when swapping the top out but I replaced it and now my tonneau cover opens, but ever since then my top doesn't work work at all, when I try to put the top up my tonneau cover opens but that's it, top doesn't go up at all nothing happens after my tonneau cover opens. Can anyone please help me, tell me what could be wrong??




very hesistant acceleration at wot

Hey everyone I have a 2002 325i with 77k miles its always been a pretty spirited car to me (never owned a fast car before). Okay so the car always shifted smoothly always had power until the redline. Now for some reason every time i press the gas down all the way, the car goes up to 5500 rpms and then struggles to climb pass that, then shifts and does it again through 2nd gear and in 3rd gear it does it again except this time it feels like the engine is jumping at about 80mph (still wot). Once it goes past 5k rpm the car doesn't even accelerate the rpms climb super slowly and then shifts, goes fast again then bogs down at the higher rpm range. This is super annoying I don't have this problem when I'm not wot only when I floor it. I have no idea what this problem could be has anyone had any similar problems?

Coilover differences, Xi vs Rwd

I just read through the SamDoe1 sticky (post #1)but still can't find a definitive answer.



Question, what is the exact MOUNTING differences between Xi coilovers and rwd coilovers?



Im not asking about possible spring rate differences or drop potential, just the physical hardware mounting differences, if any.

Please help! Suspension sound. Replace?? Advice?

I have an E46 with the JRZ Dinan suspension set up. 84k miles. I am being told by a shop that I need new front struts due to the shaft having too much play. I went to the shop because I have been hearing a somewhat grinding rub noise mostly when I am coming up to a red light going slower speeds, even at less than 1mph. Seems like I can't hear much when the weather is colder though. Sometimes it feels like I have to adjust my steering wheel to straighten out. Also, it doesn't happen over bumps, or turns. Just driving straight at slower speeds. But maybe I just can't hear at higher speeds. But super loud when I am barely coming to a stop.



I want to make absolute sure that this shop is correct (they don't have the best reputation come to find out) and that there isn't something else around the strut that could fix this problem. I would either have to rebuild through Dinan or just buy a complete new setup like a cup kit since I can't buy the same struts anymore. Has anyone had this problem??? Any advice???? Help!



The video is what the shop showed me, they were yanking on my wheel pretty hard to recreate what they believe is the bad strut.

I was wondering if anyone else uses warm/hot water to defrost their windshields on cold winter mornings? I've been doing this for 20yrs and everythings been fine **knock on wood**. I know that lots will say not to do it, but have those people actually cracked a windshield using this method?

Intermittent starting rough

I've read the threads regarding rough idle etc but my 325i intermittently starts rough (like half the cylinders) and barely moves. However the fix is to turn off and immediately start and it's perfect!

I've changed all plugs/coils and fuel pump but I never know when I start it if it's going to act this way.

Any ideas would be appreciated and I haven't pulled error codes while it's done this but this is what I plan on doing next time.

320D 150hp turboproblems!

Hey guys, i'll try my best to explain this in english.

My e46 has gotten lazier, before the turbo spools, it feels like i have no power at all, and when it spools, it does for a second or something, then it cuts out, and comes back again immediatly. And if i have full throttle during turbospool, take the foot of the gas pedal and give full gas again, it takes long time before the turbo to spool again. Anyone know what this can be? When the turbo first spools it has lots of power!

ISO 19" VMR VB3's

I've tried numerous dealers and attempted trying to go through VMR directly as well, but no one seems to have them in stock. I'm trying to get a hold of a pair of 19x9.5 et33 for the front and a pair of 19x10 et38 for the rear in hyper silver, which is called super silver now apparently lol. If anyone knows were I could aquire these wheels brand new I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!




What Automatic transmission fluid to use?

What is the best fluid to use on 2004 320i ? Also what other things can I get my mechanic to do while he has the tranny out.

Do any of you use the Dr Tranny shudder fluid in yours? I have two tubes that I was going to put into my old trans but it was too buggered for it in the end and just would have been a waste.




04 zhp coupe ballast relocation help plz

hows its going guys im sure there are a

million threads regarding this but i just couldn't seem to find one that was helpful to my situation. so i recently purchased

a dinan long tube CAI i proceeded to try and complete the installation today everything went smoothly until it was time

to put the head light back in i noticed that it wouldn't clear due to the ballast now my only question is how do i relocate the

ballast since it connects directly on to the headlight and there is no wiring harness i do have the reallocation bracket

that came with the CAI im sure somone has

encountered this problem and found a way to fix it any help would be great thank you

E46 CV Joint / Axle Replacement How-To Video

Hi Guys, I recently replaced the passenger and driver side CV axles on my 2001 330xi. After doing the first one, I decided to record the process on the driver's side so others could learn.

Need HELP car won't turn!!!!

This morning I drove my car to my friends house to pick him up to goto school but then all of a sudden the car died.

At times the car would start only for a brief second.

When I started the car this morning I noticed the coolant light was on. The light soon turned off in a minute or two.

I know it's not the battery I had the same problem before and figured out the battery was fully charged but the ground cable broke for some reason. The gauges told me that I have a half tank of gas but I'm not sure if the fuel sensor is out



Any tips and suggestions advice etc would be great thank you in advance !

BMW Professional CD Headunit

Hi All,



Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place. I couldn't spot an ICE category or anything. - If i have, can someone point me in the right direction?



Anyway, I've looked around the forums and have spotted a few interesting posts around the Professional CD player, usually found on non-UK models.



Well, my car has one of these and it's absolutely impossible to find much on them. I love how they look and I prefer it greatly over the Business CD I had in my previous car. The display is bigger and much nicer and the Tuner is much better.



I have just ordered a Connects2 Ipod Kit as there is wires in the boot for the CD changer but none installed. (non msport?) I'll hook the kit into the boot then add a Bluetooth receiver to make music from my phone, while retaining the OEM look. I have absolutely no idea if this is going to work. I have seen it done to the Business CD players and seems to work but there's not much on the Professional units so I am happy to be Guinea pig and share the results with you all.



I hope you guys are interested in this. Feel free to message me with any ideas or suggestions.

320Ci M54 UK Spec - Vanos Seals replaced - now worse

Hi Guys,



Hope you can help?



I've just replaced my Vanos seals and fitted the rattle fix too. My car ran perfectly before I completed the work, but since fitting I now have hesitation/feeling of misfire/fuel starvation and also feeling the brakes are binding/decelerating to quick when the revs are below 2K rpm. Once I accelerate above 2K rpm the car is quick.



Idle is perfect, but have dipping when A/C compressor kicks in, although it has always done this (even with the last DME update in 2005)



I have run the car through DIS and found no error codes. Also done the VANOS test and found some weird results:



Inlet Camshaft leakage 0.75 - This looks good I believe

Inlet Camshaft Adjustment Time Advance 790ms - This looks bad!

Inlet Camshaft Adjustment Time Retard 540ms - again, no good!



Exhaust Camshaft leakage 0.38 - Looks ok

Exhaust Camshaft Adjustment Time Advance 370ms - too slow still

Exhaust Camshaft Adjustment Time Retard 890ms - very slow



I have seen times up to 1000ms (the limit on the Vanos pass criteria)



Leakage looks ok, I assume this proves solenoids are sealing ok and all seals/vanos covers etc are holding pressure.



So, I guess the slow times are maybe the issue that I can feel in the car. Could it be that the Vanos seals are not bedded in yet? Already done 200miles city driving.



I have seen times around 150-250ms so mine looks very slow.



Any Ideas, knowing it was perfect before?



Vanos Axial play was tiny after the rebuild, both pistons could be rotated easily and moved laterally without binding.

Angel eyes.

Can someone explain how I put my angel eyes in? I found out there is water in the headlights, what do I do?




330Ci traction issues with rear left wheel.

As per the title, my car is serious struggling with traction only to its rear left wheel. It doesnt matter on the weather, either, however in Surrey UK we had about 1 inch of snow yesterday and the car could barely move - I got stuck on a hill with about a 3 degree incline :lmao:. I have driven the car in the snow and its been absolutely fine in the past but since then i have changed the car to HSD coilovers. (it is pretty low, no shims on the back just the inner bit of the cups/threaded bit)



Over the past 6 months or so the car has been struggling with grip to that rear left wheel, if i turn right out of a junction and give a tiny bit of power the wheel looses traction. This can be in the dry or in the wet. I could even just be driving on a straight road and go to accelerate and the left wheel will just spin, I never have issues with the rear right wheel but then I am always in the car...



The tyres arent the issue as they are pretty new. As far as i can see the car sits pretty evenly although i have never have it properly corner weighted as i lowered it myself. Could it potentially be caused by weight imbalance? Or could there be an issue with the diff causing more power to be fed to that wheel :confused: If you guys can think of anything to check that would be a starting point!!

ABS Module "not found" BMW Scanner 1.4

I've recently been using my BMW Scanner 1.4 to try and scan my "trifecta" of lights. Every time I connect my laptop to the car the ABS module is always "Not Found" which means I can't scan or recode.



Has anyone ever heard of this issue? Could this be a sign of a failing ABS Control Module?




SMG problem

2004 530i SMG 162 352km

Transmission still acting crazy.



I get the transmission error and Increased Emission error.



Scanned the car and indicated to be the Angle Selection Sensor. Changed that....Erased codes and Scanned the car, same code Angle selection sensor.. Wanted to reprogram the transmission but i cannot do anything because i have the transmission error.



Switching connectors from Shift Pattern Sensor (SP) to Angle Selection Sensor (AS) and from AS to SP the error moves to Shift Pattern Sensor.

The question is: Is the signal sent from ECU to the Sensor or the other way around?



I know the question sounds stupid but the right answer indicates exactly what the problem is.

Because, if the signal starts from ECU (salmon or orange relay) that means the harness from ECU to sensor has a short. If the signal is sent from Sensor to ECU m

eans there is something wrong inside transmission where Selection Angle Sensor is connected.



So far i changed salmon and orange relays. Fixed slave cylinder leak. Replaced SA sensor. Spent about $1500 and the car its been parked for almost 1 year....

And i also received a manual transmission instead of an used SMG.



Now I got a 2014 x5 F15.....but when i look at my E60 i feel like this :cry::cry::cry:




Various key FOB issues...

Couple questions,



1) Ran one of my key FOBs thru the wash and now it won't communicate with the car. Is it dead forever?



2) Key FOB #2 will not start the car. It will lock and unlock/trunk, but no start. I can hold another key next to the ignition and the car WILL start with the FOB so obviously it's an issue with the key talking to the ignition. I'm assuming some type of re-program is in order? I have a PA Soft 1.4 and was wondering if I could reprogram them from home?

Expansion tank parts questions

I bought a kit very similar to this to replace my failing ex tank:









A couple questions. First, is the black sleeve over the coolant sensor supposed to stay on? My old sensor was exposed, but it doesn't look like the sleeve easily comes off.



Also, what is that oil cooler thing for? I have a manual tranny and couldn't figure out if I just didn't have it on my car or I was blind.

Hey All:



So for YEARS now I have taken from the community, and other than $40 a year -- I never give really anything back, so I am consolidating a ton of research into one thread to give the e46 Community a "one stop shop" for the various torque specs needs.



I have ripped about a half dozen screw and bolt heads off various screws and bolts, and I figured -- I am likely not the only one so here it goes from the most common stuff to the least common stuff.



First I'll start off with how to look this stuff up on your own;



Every BMW bolt has a name. No BMW bolt lacks a name. Let me say this again. If you drive a BMW -- ever single bolt and screw in the car has a name -- and it means something.



If you look at a combination of two things with the attached document:



You can always find out the torque specs for the bolt, unless the housing limits it, which I will highlight below.



Lets take a bolt that holds the main drive belt tensioner in place.



Its BMW part number: 07119905533



It looks like this:

The M8 tells you what class of bolt it is.



The X means versus



The 35 tells you its length in millimetres.

E46 330 2001 330ci 105k $5000 louisiana

I have a 2001 bmw 330ci for sale it has 105k on it. It is a 5 speed manual with sport suspension. It has every option they could have that year. It runs great and drives amazingly. Very clean car. With sunroof, leather, power everything. I have many performance parts for the vehicle that have not been installed yet. I have h&r springs with koni adjustable shocks, ecs short shift kit with zhp nob, new bushings and control arms for the front end along with tie rods, a unpainted csl bumper, and aero mirrors. All of these parts come with the car. The only issues the car has is the passenger window doesn't work and the headliner is falling. Call or text me at 225 3 two 8 4 one 43 clean title in hand.




Idle problem

When my car is on idle, the rpm keeps dropping and then going back to normal, also, if i leave the clutch at less than 2-2.5k rpm it vibrates. I am having a 316i. The idle is just as in this video : http://ift.tt/1yFrTee

E46 Fastest way to drain fuel?

I have a few problems with my e46 and it will not run in the coming days. There is 3/4 of fuel in the tank and I need it out of there. I don't have a way getting under the car. What could be the fastest and easiest method for draining the fuel? The year is 1998. Is there is some kind of anti-syphon system in the filler hole?

Convertible Top Hydraulic hose Leak

Having a tough time locating hydraulic leak in the top. It appears that three lines run thru a corner plate about 24" up from the rear on the drivers side, first hinge joint up from the rear. When i added oil to the pump this is the area that started leaking. Can't see the line leaking because it runs thru this Joint/Plate. 2 line run over to the passenger side just after this point. Any suggestions how to locate / confirm? Headliner is down. Any help is greatly appreciated

Check out how screwed my old engine was!

So a few months ago I picked up my 325i, she drove beautifully down the highway for the 200Km drive home. Had a bit of a rough idle which I figured was thanks to a cracked coil. After that, chased a few vacuum leaks changed plugs, pulled codes etc... before booking her into my friends shop and these results came back;







Ahh thit. Okay so I figured I'd try a few black magic & unicorn blood fixes... which did nothing not surprisingly. So I recently picked up a replacement motor & began the fun of swapping them out. I'm about halfway through the swap, just waiting on parts so I figured why not tear the old motor apart to see what went wrong? I figured maybe a few stuck/ burnt valves or maybe a bad piston ring or two.... but not this. When I pulled the head I was completely floored & left speechless.

Now it gets more interesting. The top pic is cylinder 1, and the bottom is 4 (refer to compression & leakdown test). The head though shows no signs of damage either, save for a few improperly seated valves on 2 & 6. I also found piston's 2 & 6 are warped (overheating?). On top of all that there's massive amounts of carbon build up (poor gas?). For a car with 150,000Km I did not expect to see all that but hey, it is what it is. Will probably be the last time I buy a car that was only driven 2 months of the year in summer, in the Northwest Territories though haha.




Coding Info

I've searched high and low, so maybe I'm just not very good at searching, but here goes. I'm on my second e46 and I recently purchased a BMW scanner (OBDII) and PA Soft 1.4. With this software I have learned how to do a few basic mods, erase codes and change settings. I know there is a lot more potential. PA Soft 1.4 has the ability to modify many areas of the DME, IKE and more. I can't find any information. All of the information is haphazard and most threads end before I can make sense of them.



What are PA Soft 1.4, WinkFP, Tool32, INPA, NCSexpert, Shark and any other popular programs and how/where can I get them?



What can these programs do?



Does anyone have detailed instructions on any of these programs?



I want to learn the basics first, but eventually I would like to flash my DME for a more responsive throttle and the accompanying alterations. To do this, would I have to flash anything other than the DME?



Chances are this thread will die too, but I need answers. If someone can even point me to a helpful thread, that would be great.

Will these fit my Non-M?

Let me first start off by saying that I have no experience with wheel/tire/suspension fitment.



I have a non-M pre-facelift coupe and would like to know if 18 x 9.5 ET22 rims would fit squared on my car. My current tire size is 225/40/R18, have not rolled my fenders, have a "factory" alignment (no crazy camber), and am on stock sport suspension. I also have 10mm spacers on the rear, but I'm assuming that would not need those with these wheels. I believe that my current wheels are 18 x 8.5 ET50. (OEM 18inch Style 71's)



A.) Will this work?

B.) If this will not work, how can I make it work?

C.) Is it even possible to make this work?

My son damaged his oil pan and it needs to be replaced. I came across an oil pan for a great price but for a e39 528i (m52?). Will this work on the m54? It looks the same... Which engine oil pans are interchangeable on the m54?

320 Ci: Previous owner rear shock cock up causing DSC issues?

So, just took my 320 Ci through the NCT (Irish National Car Test) and all was fine apart from the rear suspension, which failed. Nearside 57mm, Offside 175mm. This gives a whopping 67% imbalance (30% being the cut off).



The guy who tested the car told me he suspects that two different sized shocks have been installed on either side of the car and that's what's causing the imbalance (maybe one regular suspension shock, one original sport shock?). Any opinions on whether this would this be the most likely cause of such a large imbalance? I have new sports shocks and mounts arriving tomorrow and I'll be changing them this weekend so I'll be able to check for certain then anyway.



The real issue I'd like an opinion on is the regular appearance of my DSC and handbrake lights. Now, I think the two are possibly related. If there is such a large imbalance, would the wheels be spinning at slightly different speeds and could this be throwing off the data being provided to the DSC module by the wheel speed sensors, thus making the DSC light come on? I'm not sure if I'm completely wrong about this but I'd like to hear if anyone has any thoughts on this possibility. Cheers!

When to avoid SMG transmission...?

Researching with a view to buying either an M3 convertible or a Z4. This car won't be a DD and won't be used year round (I envisage ~6k miles per year). My preference for transmission is manual but have seen a few lower mileage M3's with SMG transmission. Should SMG be avoided at all costs, is it a safer bet if the car has lower mileage or is it not an as clean as I making it sound?




P0171,P0174 has me stumped

So I just bought this car a month ago and overall it has been great. 2004 bmw 110k miles, serviced by import dealer its whole life, very well maintained. When I bought the car she told me it had a CES light for the mass air flow sensor. So I think she had it diagnosed by someone who found that out. I have been checking for vacuum leaks the past couple days, and havent came out with anything. I havent taken the DISA apart yet, though. The only only problem related to the code is when I cold start it in the mourning it starts fine, goes into high idle, falls back down, then revs back down. Whole time it starts misfiring really bad. It has been getting down to 18 in indiana and its getting worse the colder it gets. I was going to change my valve cover and plugs this weekend. is there anything I could look at in the vanos? Should I look at just replacing the MAF? OEM? any advice is appreciated guys.

2003 325i M-Sport I Build Thread

So after having the car for a year, and already spending tons of time on it -- I figured I would do a build thread. As I drink my coffee in this morning and write this, I don't have access to any photos of the car that are worth putting on here -- yet, so those will come at a later day, but I do have some in the Garage here so I'll post those up:

It had a whole new cooling system (except for the radiator) installed @ 132,000 kilometers, so I'll be putting a new one in at 220,000. As I write this it sits at 185. I purchased it with 154.

Central Locking

Hey guys!



Few weeks back, the central locking system was displaying its usual symptoms:

1- The key only physically unlocks the driver's door but not the other doors.

2- The central locking button only locks all doors but doesn't unlock anything.

3- I cannot open the doors from inside using the handles except the driver's door.



I suspected that it was a fuse problem, so I replaced the fuse and then voilà, everything was working perfectly. That is until few days back, all the above-mentioned symptoms came back.



NOTE: When I remove the fuse and put it back again, the central locking works fine for mere hours, and then it goes bust again.



Can someone help me please? Is it the GM5 module, the doors' actuators or the Hall sensors?

This was the first mod I did when I got my ZHP after an accident 2 years ago. Quite needed since my back was suffering. This mod only requires you to remove the back and module to install. Help! Debris down coolant tank!

Hi all,

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm leaking coolant pretty bad, checked the reservoir and found that the dipstick indicator thing had snapped w the top part (3" long) was sitting on guard, I tried to chopstick it out and it fell past the guard!!!

I'm hoping it got stuck in the radiator hose somewhere but does anyone know if it went all the way through what this would mean??

Hi to all, and can you help?

I am new here so firstly can I just say a big hello to you all. I also need a little help if anyoone would be kind enough.



After curbing the M3 E46 my drivers door airbag went off, I have repaired that and reset the fault but at the same time I lost the central door locking. This was on both remote (except for the boot) and from the internal button by the hand brake.



I do have a fault code that is either 0 or s 2 21 and the message/ central locking system: fuse. Static error.

The problem is the fuses are all good it would seem. I did unplug and check again this evening and lost the boot unlock now which is rather strange.



Are there any other fuses I am missing? can anyone help please?

Hi every body I am new to any type of forum so it is going to take me some time to figure all this out I will work on getting pictures up a.s.a.p. but I also have questions about some things going on with my ride but so far it is a blast to drive




E46 convertible trade in value

I have a 2002 330ci convertible/Orient Blue. It has 217k miles and a few issues.

In order to have the car pass state inspection, I have to perform the following, replace the catalytic converters, the right front tie rod, the right control arm assembly, 2 front tires, and the CCV kit (which is creating a lean mixture causing the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light.) a front end alignment.



Repair total $2560.



After the inspection, the car needs

Engine belts, rear shocks, valve cover gasket, and the power top motor/pump replaced.



The urging from others in connection with the ownership are saying, let go of the car and get a new one.



The mechanic says that my return on the car at this point without the repairs, it PERHAPS $1000. He said he'll give me $ 1000. Dealer has not offered a dollar amount but ask WHAT DO I THINK THE CAR IS WORTH.



Any thoughts.

How's it going? New to the site, and new to having a BMW as well. Just a college student from San Diego who really loves BMW's, and found a good price on my 2001 325i. '03 318i Intermittent stalling and now won't start

Hey everyone - long time lurker, first post. I have used this forum many many times with both my e46s and it has always been a great source of info - so thanks!



Anyway, my '03 318i Auto (Australian) is having some weird problems.



Symptoms:

- Occasional stalling - I haven't been driving any of the times this has happened, but it most recently happened at slow speed in a carpark. I am told the dash lights up with all sorts of random lights, including EML, Transmission error cog, ABS, Traction control etc.

- Occasionally, it won't start. Cranks nicely but won't catch. Leaving it for a while seems to fix the problem (i.e. it will start first go after about an hour or two)



The history:

After the first bout of non-starting, I came and plugged in my code scanner a few hours after the event. It started first go, but had the transmission cog light, handbrake light, and ABS light lit. I switched it off and then on again - everything perfect.



I read the codes and some codes of note were:

- Failure oil status sensor

- Camshaft sensor inlet

- Camshaft sensor outlet

- Crankshaft sensor

- CAN engine speed

- Power on reset

- Can DME DDE signal error

- No CAN message

- Tank sensor 2



I have a few ideas to discuss, mainly:

1. The battery appears to be the original - I will replace tomorrow and report back. I would love it to be the battery, but the voltage reads ok when charging (14.4) and at rest (12.2), and the car cranks for ages without tiring. Batteries last forever in Australia because it doesn't get cold, but it's getting replaced anyway. I'm not sure it would explain the stalling issue though?



2. Crankshaft and cam sensors - When cranking, it really feels like the engine is confused. It will randomly fire on one cylinder (that's what it seems like) but it won't catch. Almost like the timing is way way way out. I remember the cam sensor codes being there last time I scanned it (about 2 months ago). I'll try these second if the battery fix doesn't eventuate. Also give me a chance to swap out the dying starter motor which is making funny noises.



3. Loose wiring/shorting/broken connection - would explain the intermittent nature of the problems - perhaps something at the DME interface? could also explain all the CAN errors.



4. Mass Air Flow meter?? Are they known to cause this many problems?



5. Speed sensors/ABS module - not really too confidant that this is the problem, but they are common - anyone know how to check?



We can eliminate;

- Fuel level - the tank is full. Could be a fuel delivery issue though (wouldn't really explain all the errors and lights though.

- Ignition switch seems ok

It's a 95' Mercedes W124 Wagon Imperial Red/Blk riding on Accuair Switchspeed suspension and Oem Amg mono blocks. Love it or hate it, she's still not the e46. Still hoping to see her again sometime this year :eeps::rofl:
