Stalling on pull off

Hi all this is my first encounter with problems having owned the car for around 6 weeks, so over the last 2 weeks the car has started to stall now and again my first thought was about 2 weeks ago I let the fuel run low ie light came on and I did a further 10/15 mile before filling up I thought this would of been fine(but am aware u shouldn't run fuel tanks low) I'm not sure if that was the culprit and may be sum sh*t got through or not I don't know could just be a coincidence ? It was ok however for 3/4 days after that but still does it now and again,(not all the time) but noticeably today pretty much cutting out at the lights everytime, basically stroll up to lights, sit there engine running perfect no erratic idling or anything, then go to accelerate to pull off and cuts out then struggled to start( as if no fuel) but had plenty, it did start everytime however, just sometimes not first time I've noticed since getting home that if I go to rev fast ie put my foot down quite quick the engine revs drop down to almost stalling but if I gently rev it seems to do it as it should, I'm not saying I floor it(hard to explain) bit litte rally just tap foot on the throttle then straight off but not to the floor, any way hope that's explained how it is, any info greatly appreciated,as I'm needing to do a 180 mile trip in a few hours and hope it's gonna be ok as I will be on motorway most off it, is it worth putting any of that fuel injector cleaning stuff in as I will have to fill up before I hit the road, maybe a nice long run will sort it out, thanks for taking the time time to read guys
