So I work at Honda and for the past few days I was able to drive used and new manual trans. civic and si's. One thing that stuck to me about those cars were the butter-like and light weight clutch feel. When I depressed the clutch, it was really easy to just pivot from the ankles. It makes it seem that if I drove this car in heavy traffic, my leg wouldn't even be tired.
After driving one of them, I drove my e46 and I did not expect the clutch to be so stiff and heavy. I'm already use to the feel of the clutch on my car before I started working at Honda so I didn't really notice it. BTW, I have no problems shifting my car smoothly. My clutch also seems to still be good as it bites when I release it about 1/2" or less.
Just for the hell of it, I test drove a jetta, gli, gti, camry and corolla to see how their clutch is. They were all so easy, butter and smooth.
What can I do/upgrade to make my clutch butter-like and lightweight?
