Hi Guys,
I'd like to thank this forum for posting detailed DIYs. I followed the DIYs here to change brake pads and am successful in changing the pads on both the axels today, my first DIY. I took 4 hours in total, with a 30 min break.
Earlier, I had Textar Ceramics on both the axels and for the past 6 months the brake squealing is constantly going up with steering wobbling while braking. I thought of changing pads and put on new Akebono Ceramics. Steering wobbling is far less now than earlier, but I didn't cross 45mph now and brake squealing is completely gone. I'm happy about these two. BUT, I feel the braking is not effective, but I just drove only 5 miles today after the job. I'm curious to know if braking effectiveness would be better after 100 miles or so, by which the new pads gets properly aligned to the rotors. Pl. advice guys, I'm not happy on the braking power of the new Akebono pads. My happiness of DIY is getting suppressed by braking effectiveness :(
Guys are really amazing giving the detailed DIYs and tips. Thanks to all experts again.
