Noticeably Slower Acceleration When The A/C Is On

Hi All,

When I have my A/C turned on, my car is noticeably slower to accelerate and the engine braking effect is increased. I know that this is because of the added power demand from the compressor, but it really does bother me. It's most pronounced when on the highway passing someone or on the entrance-ramp.

If my car was a 325ci, I don't think it would accelerate at all :eeps:

The car has been super-well taken care of throughout its life. With the A/C off, it's super quick and smooth. The A/C blows ICE cold air (coldest I've felt come out of any car).

All of my other cars have a similar effect, just not as noticeable.

Any ideas or is this normal? 6-speed by the way.

Thanks!
