GROUP BUY S54 OEM Rod bearings with WPC coating! OEM bolts optional

Hi guys, there has been an on going group buy on M3f for awhile now for this custom kit that M3Dragon 'pieced' together. It mimics the BMW OE kit that has been discontinued, but also has a few added features, such as the WPC coating.

To sum the WPC coating up, basically is shot peening at a transonic speed with much smaller anomalies resulting in an ultra smooth surface for drastically reduced friction properties. WPC is NOT a coating, and unlike a coating will not mess with the fine tolerances required in the rotating assembly. Check the video...

Bolts are needed for production dates 12.13.2002 and up DETAILS

a) Pre 12/13/2002. You're lucky. No nightmarish tightening procedure!

You can reuse your bolts.

Settling torque 5NM

Initial torque 30NM

Angle torque to 70 degrees in a single stroke

b) Post 12/13/2002. You have to do all of these in a row.

First:

Settling torque 5NM

Initial torque 30NM

Angle torque to 105 degrees in a single stroke

Release bolt one full turn, so aprox. 360 degrees (this will pretty much loosen the bolts so you'll feel like you're starting again)

Second:

Settling torque 5NM

Initial torque 30NM

Angle torque to 105 degrees in a single stroke

Release bolt one full turn

Third:

Settling torque 5NM

Initial torque 30NM

Angle torque to 105 degrees in a single stroke

*Note: no more releasing anything this third time around, you're done!

Let me know if anyone is interested, we have 2 definite buyers including me and need 4 to begin the 2 week window until we close the deal.

Once this is done, assume a 3 week turn around and in some cases the last few items had a 12 day shipping time. However, I have not read of any complaints. M3Dragon is doing this on his own time so please be patient in any case.

Remember these motors are getting up there in age, this is an excellent maintenance upgrade and while you're in there tackle oil pan gasket, CPV, FCAB, motor mounts, guibo, pilot bearing, shifter etc...possibilities are endless.
