LEFT fuel level sensor

I have been searching for a DIY on the left fuel level sensor and all i keep getting is the fuel pump removal... Can anyone on the forum shed some light on this please? The problem i am facing is that my car runs out of gas at the quarter tank mark so i may be wrong but i am assuming that the level sensor in the left side of the tank is bad... Feel free to share your opinions on this
