Hello everyone,
I have an 04 M3 and it has halogen headlights so I decided to upgrade to OEM xenon (not Bixenon) but I'm having some issues and would appreciate the help.
The seller claimed they were working fine before removing them from his M3 and he's not accepting any returns or refund, so I have to get them worked, therefore.
I installed everything as it supposed to be leaving out the high beam ballast outlet empty and the auto leveling one as well without any connection.
I went to the dealer after installing the headlights to reflash the LCM, which they said it's their first time to do so, but they claimed they've done it the right way. However, I got some issues here.
The xenon didn't work first, but after unplugging and plugging back the connector of the xenon from the driver side ballast, they worked for a minute. Then we shut the car off assuming they worked. But then after 10 mintes , I turned them on, they didn't work. And again, I unplugged the same connector from the driver side ballast and connected it back on, they worked well for 30 seconds then they started flickering then the went off.
Every time I unplug the connector from the ballast, the same thing happens, which is they go on for about 20-30 seconds then they start flickering after that then they go off and the warning light off come on on the dash.
I've read and researched a lot and still really confused what to do. Some say it could be bad ballasts, some say it could be bad bulbs, some say it could be the ignitors, and others say it could be wiring/grounding issue. I'm really confused and need some help on what to do and how to test everything making sure it works.
Again, any help will be so appreciated. I usually work until midnight and I'm driving the car at night with only fog lights on. Both high beams work fine though :(
Thanks!
Rami
