Hi everyone!
I have a problem with a e46 instrument cluster.the cluster completly dead .only ABS SRS and backlight works.also i have a code stored in the DME #130 signal,CAN IKE.I had a good used cluster what i swapped to test.with the used one everything works fine except the tamper dot(i know need to coded).with this cluster unfortunetly been driven a day until the car didnt start up(cranking but no firing)swapped back the old cluster,delete codes and car runs.however the swapped cluster has now the same issue(dead but ABS SRS+baclighting works).i checked the white connector and i have power at 3pins(so fuses are ok) and a ground.however accidently when i tried to plug back the white connector without the connector case i plugged back in 1 pinrow down.different lights lighten up(so im assuming the cluster works if u giving signals/power to the input pins.)
Is anyone had the same problem or knows what could be the problem or the best thing if anyone find out the solution?
For me sounds i have a problem on the CAN side.is it possible the CAN signal somehow fries /makes dead the cluster?anyone has a good test proceedure to diagnose this problem?
