Hi all,
My cluster is not working properly. The backlight works (except behind the temp but its been down for months), the brake and abs indicators work. The brake light goes out when brake is down but yellow abs stays on. Nothing else works, no other indicators, no odometer display, no turn signals, and needles not moving. The radio, AC, windows, interior lights, exterior headlights, tail lights, and signals all work.
It started when my car wouldn't start all of the sudden after being started an hour prior. Even though it didn't start the gauge was functional at that time. I checked the voltage at the battery with a multimeter and the gauges went dead. I jumped the car with another car and it started right up and continued to start up on its own.
Here's what I have done:
1) replaced battery
2) checked all fuses
3) pulled all the kbus pins out one at a time to see if cluster would come back to life.
4) unhooked CD player in trunk to test
5) removed fuses to test
6) tried to reset the cluster but no go
7) disconnected cluster and reconnected
History:
A few weeks back I remember my clock going crazy on its own while I was
driving.
I was thinking to change the cluster next but started reading threads about the lcm and odometer issues which I don't want to have and reprogramming, etc. I want to keep my same odo mileage reading with no tamper lights. Just want it back to normal.
Any held, advise, guidance would be most definitely appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sorry for the long post.
