Howdy gang,
Hoping to offer up as much information as I can in return for some amazing A/C advice.
I bought my E46 with a non functioning A/C compressor. There was no belt on it and the guy said the clutch went to crap.
Last year I replaced the A/C compressor and drier, then had it recharged at a Tires Plus. Low and behold the A/C did not work after it was charged. I had them double check that the system was charged. The Fan DOES turn on.
Today I tried to do some more diagnostic work, I checked all fuses related to A/C (I think they were 28, 62,63) all were fine.
I checked with a volt meter the power feed line that goes to the compressor and saw no voltage when the A/C button was pressed.
I then removed the #4 A/C Compressor relay behind the glove box and instead of testing it just ran up to Motorworks BMW and bought one. I put it in in the parking lot and BOOM, ICE COLD A/C...for about 1 minute.
Now I'm stumped...it worked...then it didn't. Any clues? Pretty please?
Thanks
