When my cluster died I also lost the lights that illuminate the display when the headlights are on. They don't work on the new cluster either. Last night I disconnected the cluster and checked each pin with a voltmeter with the light switch on. When I found a pin with voltage, I turned the light switch off but I could not find any pins that turned off/on with the switch. The troubleshooting guide says the cluster lights go to the connection block X1019 and that it is located just to the right of the shifter under the carpet. Has anyone ever had to access this connector? How difficult was it to get to?
