Microphone not fitting pre-wired connector! Any ideas?

I'm trying to install the microphone (84316938762) into my 2002 M3, but the pre-wired three pin (male) connector is different than the microphone's (female) adapter. The pre-wired connector has a high ridge on one side, while the microphone has a multilevel stair-step type connection. I installed a mic on my 2005 330i with no problems.







Does anyone have any suggestions? :hmm: Thanks in advance for any guidance.
