What you'll need:
- 220 grit sandpaper
- 600 grit sandpaper
- Automotive aerosol primer (duplicolor is fine)
- Spray can of factory-matched leather, vinyl, and plastic dye.

Note: Don't buy 'pure black' to recolor your BMW interior. BMW's black dye is actually 5% white and 10% blue!

Time required:
About 60 minutes.
Step 1: Remove parts if possible.
Step 2: Sand with 220 grit paper.
Sand until all peeling rubber coating is gone.
Step 3: Apply multiple light coats of primer and wait 20 min.
Step 4: Wetsand with 600 grit sandpaper until smooth.
Step 5: Apply multiple light coats of dye.
A heat gun helps to speed up dry times. Wait 10 min. before re-installing in car.
