I have 2004 325i. The power steering went out, there was fluid all over the bottom of the car. The fluid was low in the reservoir, but never completely emptied. I thought the problem was obvious, since it seems to be sort of common on these cars.
The new pump and reservoir came in the mail this week. After removing the pump I realize the shaft is NOT broken, like it often is when this problem occurs. I don't see any cracks in the pump.There is oil all over the bottom part of the engine. I don't know where to start looking for the problem. I haven't come across any articles that address anything other than, the pump, or low fluid in the reservoir
Has anyone else had this problem? What was your issue? I would like to know what else to check before I start re-assembly on this project.
