Hard to start, no power, crank sensor and timing fault...

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to figure out few probs with my newly bought 330.. First of all I knew it wasn't working correctly when i bought it, but i never expected to have so much trouble with it! It's making my life hell:(

Symptoms:

1. car is taking around 4 seconds to start, very long cranking time in my opinion...

2. No power at all - 1.9 tdi is faster than this 330... can't stay like that:)

3. None of the speakers do work apart from one - left front door.

Now about the faults i found:

In the ecu:

53 signal, crankshaft sensor

08 signal, air-mass flow sensor

F4 segment timing, true running disturbed

In the ABS module:

5E24 Pressure sensors

5E1F Vehicle Identification number different

5E16 CAN connection to instrument cluster

5E20 Pressure sensor 1

5E1A Can data error from DME/DDe (DSC lamp on unit ignition reset)

Just to say, I have bought the car as is and don't know the history at all. The guy selling it seemed to be happy getting rid off that beautiful 330 :/ Maybe there's sommin really smelly with this car?

I'm the most concerned about crank sensor and timing - just to add I've fitted brand new VDO crank shaft sensor and still no change at all! The faults are there and it's still hard to start. What I was thinking about is to check timing, but never heard for the chain in M54 engine to slip..? Am I wrong?

Maybe it's a hydraulic tensioner sticky, but I checked with a scredriver after taking off rocker cover and they it seems to work fine. Seriously it's making my headache guys...... I'll have locking tools in few days time, so will check that. The car has done only 190000 km, so it's not enough to cause that amount of damage in timing.

Many many thx for reading this thread and for even trying to think about the problem!
