Is it normal for the sump to get really hot, boiling in fact?......I am in the process of doing a sump gasket repair and during the oil flushing operation I noticed that when undoing the sump drain plug the oil was almost boiling and the sump was very hot.
Should the oil be this hot or not? I am wondering if I have some sort of oil overheating problem.
When undoing the sump gasket bolts they were very tight , just getting half of them out so far I have broke 2 ratchet spanners and have one striped bolt hole , which will require re-tapping.
Has anyone had similar problems? Is there something I should check out while the sump is off ..if so please advise
