Audio build thread

I am trying to toss up between doing,

1. Nexus 7 front end with dac and wifi with cached music from spotify and torque or something for obd (seems the most simple) and steering interface kit

2. Windows car pc I have with centrafuse and all the associated paraphanalia, GPS Bluetooth, bmw ncs tools, touch screen

3. Retain stock system and mod the crap out of it with raspberry pi, interface built by Prte with a proper Dac, update maps with transfer poi's and install Bluetooth module

Depending on the head chosen would than determine how I wire up the amp stage, using a loc from the head unit into Audison lrx class a for front splits and a kicker zr360 for a Boston g5 and potentially retain the stock amp for rear fill that would be if I retained the stock system option 3 otherwise I would just use the dac as a source something like a minidsp with rew mapping software for eq

Nexus is the most simplistic and upto date but is limited in the ability to interface with the obd, windows box would be great for obd but requires a fair amount of integration work and wiring to get it all working, stock just seems like it would be to limited but the most oem finish, however retains fm radio and stock interface to car

Anyway those are some thoughts, thr biggest thing than after all that will be if I cut the doors (eeek don't think I will do it) to mount the elates because they are free air ATM and it was a pain to get them to fit let me tell you, the magnets are huge...
