Repairing Sliding 'door Closed' Switch

In summer of '13 I discovered that the passenger sliding door of our '02 EX would not close with the outside handle. It would close with both the remote or the dash switch. It would also close if you 'bump' the door by closing it partially manually, then it would close on its own.

I thought it was an adjustment issue, but then discovered that the sliding door closed switch had been broken off somehow. This switch is visible when the door is open and by looking in the area where the door lower rollers are - the arm of this switch can be seen poking through the floor of the van.

As the door is opened, the door support toggles this switch as it goes by. I assume that this tells the controller that the door is now open.

After learning that the part is 60 dollars locally (35 dollars if I order in US, but have to deal with shipping), I decide to see if I can repair the existing switch.

The switch can easily be removed by taking the sliding door kickplate off. This is held to the floor with spring clips. The switch can then be removed by the two bolts.

The first pic shows the broken switch arm along with the good one from the other side (I removed this one to make the mold). I removed the switch arm from the switch body by opening it with a small screwdriver. The arm rides on a shaft, and has a spring on it.
