Hello E46 owners. I am looking for anyone with a tool for scanning/reading/clearing codes on a BMW or anyone who can help me fix my car either through your experience/expertise or referral to a reliable mechanic. First, let me say that the Check Engine light is on. Here's my situation and please know that I have read all the threads that speak to the codes below in a bid to rid of them....
2003 BMW 325i - 160K miles
Situation;
- Car Idles at stop light and sometimes turns off.
- Car has trouble shifting gears or is slow sometimes - tough getting to 40mph
- Very rough drive and idle
Codes from Autozone;
P1085
P0313
P0456
P1083
P0171
Repairs done by self/auto stores in the last 4weeks;
- Cleaned MAF - $5 cleaner
- Cleaned Idle Valve thoroughly - $5 carb cleaner
- Checked all hoses, no leaks. - $0
- Replaced failed fuel pump and fuel transfer pump and got fuel injector cleaned.(At Christian Brothers in Lubbock - I was stranded there, and had no choice; there's a chance that the fuel filter was not replaced) - $ 1300
- Changed broken-flap DISA box - $90 (got a used, but functioning one)
- Changed spark plugs - $36 - The old ones were done...
Unfortunately, nothing has changed and I need to get it registered and smoked(I have Texas plates). I am new to the area, and this being my only ride, I can't drop it at any shop since I work 8a-5p Mon - Fri. and most shops close on weekends. My last option is to sell it for scraps and go Japanese :) I am tired throwing money at this car..... Help!!!!
Thank you.
