I'm intending to do a tranny flush in the near future, but I'm having trouble figuring out which tranmission I have due to conflicting sources. I will be looking later, but I'd like some input first.
I have an '03 325i in RHD (Australia). Built April 2003, complied October 2003 (Australian regulation thing)
VIN is FX62381
According to realOEM, I have A5S325Z transmission.
According to the Bentley books, they swapped transmissions in 03/02, and started putting GM transmissions in, so I should have A5S390R.
Since I had this conflict, I began testing with other cars and other build dates, and no matter what I enter into realoem, it will return with the A5S325Z. I can enter 330i, 330Ci, 2005 for year, but it will still return A5S325Z. Is realoem bugged for Europe delivery cars or is this just something wrong with my end?
In addition, when looking for tranny, should the tranny plate be green or blue if it was a GM? I looked once, and i'm reasonably sure it was green, but I couldn't get a good read on whether it was ZF or GM.
