Replacing VANOS seals / VCG / Auto trans fluid at 175k

Looking for any input / tips for my current situation.

My car has a minor VCG leak, and it is exhibiting signs of bad VANOS seals. I suspect they are the same ones from day 1. No rattle, but I experience the following:

-Pretty much no low end torque, and then a surge of power

- Extreme loss of power when AC is on, my car revs up to 4k from a dead stop before it shifts

Here are my following questions:

Should I knock out the VCG and the VANOS while I'm in there?

Am I better off not touching my VANOS due to a possibility of my CCV failing? ( I believe this is the issue some people had). And if so, should I just buy one and change it as PM?

What trans fluid should I use for the change? I have a GM trans, luckily. It's the A5S390R

How much should I use? Bullshitkorner on YouTube recommends changing it, running it, changing it again, running it, and changing it a final time. I've seen the same recommendation on here. How many Qts would I need for this method and where is the best place to buy it for a decent price?

Aside from my aforementioned VANOS issues, I am experiencing some odd clunks when changing gears, as well as funky shifting at times, is it too late to save this at 175k miles? Am I better off just crossing my fingers and hoping it lasts?

Lastly, when I remove everything to change the VCG and VANOS, should I wipe all of the oil off or just leave it, and will I need to top off my oil after doing the changes?

Should I change the rear diff when I do the trans as well?

Sorry for all of the questions, I want to be absolutely sure about everything. I've read many threads, but times change and methodology changes, so I want to stay up to date!
