Having an issue/quirk with my '01 330Ci 'vert with 105k miles. When driving at speeds above ~45-50 mph, after shifting into 4th or 5th and then getting back on the accelerator, I'll get a thump or thud from the front of the car. There is no real noise associated with this and it doesn't happen every time. If I get back on the accelerator lightly, I can delay it until I press harder at which point it happens. I have no other symptoms, no vibrations, no bearing noises, no whining, no thumping during gear changes. The paperwork I got with the car says it had a new clutch at 15k miles and diff bushing and seal at ~55k miles. The clutch does squeak from time to time and there is a popping sensation in the clutch pedal, but my old 330i had this and so did my 530i when I had them. Those don't seem to affect gear changes. Crawled under the car and checked the guibo, trans mounts, and engine mounts. They seem solid with no cracks. Any ideas? Maybe the dual mass flywheel springing back after the clutch reengages?
