NOTE!!!!!:::: When buying used car get a leak down test before purchasing!!!!!
I bought a 2002 e46 330i a couple of months back. It has had a morning misfire since purchase. I thought it was a vacuum line. Well I have tried everything. The problem has gotten worse. It was just happening in morning and then if it sat for a couple of hours not it is misfiring on cylinder 5 and sometimes cylinder 4. It has also had a mysterious coolant leak nothing external showing. Today i checked the head bolts around cylinders 4 and 5. the first bolt held at 30ftlbs. the second and third bolt spin with only about 10ftlbs of torque. I checked a couple more and they seemed fine. I believe the previous owner overheated the motor and replaced the head gasket (the timing was off when I got the car)...I had to pay to get this fixed. Can anyone in houston area reccomened a shop that will do time-sert fix? I believe I can do it except for maybe the timing. Does anyone in houston think they can help me with timing?
Thank for the help.
