I have a 1999 325i E46...
I have recently had a fair amount of trouble with overheating. Along side this, the blower wasn't working.
I have changed the Thermo + Expansion tank and that had little effect. I then bled the system again, and viola... no more over heating!
I did observe that the rad never seemed to kick in, and the blower wasn't working so I set about investigating.
I have checked all the fuses and was resigned to thinking either the FSU or the blower motor. I left it be...
Today I was driving along and all of a sudden, the blower came on!? It wasn't a steady, constant airflow but it was definitely on! This lasted for a few minutes and then is trailed off.
Later the same day, while driving along, it did exactly the same thing! Came on for a few mins and then went off. It's almost like it is on some kind of "auto" (Auto is switched off!) and there is no way the temp in the car is reaching what the dial is set to. The dial is set to 16 degrees and currently with the sun out its about 25/26 in the car.
Does this sound more likely to be the FSU or blower motor / electrics? :banghead:
