I have a 2000 323i. I just replaced the guibo and CSB and when attempting installation I could not get the diff end to come close enough to engage the bolts(with the transmission side bolts barely threaded onto their nuts. I tried jacking the trans/diff but that didn't work. I've tried everything I could think of but nothing has worked. When we put the 2 halves of the drive shaft back together after replacing the center bearing, my buddy tightened the nut on the shaft very very tight. I didn't think anything of it at the time but it seems to be the only thing I that would cause this problem. Is there any way the driveshaft could be shortened too much if the 2 halves are screwed in too tight? Any ideas how I can get the drive shaft to reach properly? Any help is greatly appreciated.
