So yesterday my friend and I jacked up the M and yanked the muffler off (not literally). I was planning on getting something different for the sake of having some noise. Now, I've done my research and watched countless YouTube videos and I gotta say, getting the exhaust to sound good (deep tone and not so raspy higher up). Without a muffler, these things are LOUD. I really dig the burble during decel and the deep tone that's down low. But after 4k...it's loud and raspy...almost a bit ricey.. :blah::blah::blah: you know the story.
Now, I know you can't get much out of a muffler (except lose a bit of the tremendous amount of torque these cars have!1!1!!). But instead of going straight for a bolt-on (for the future, maybe a Scorza or Remus or Rogue..)
I want to try experimenting with some "shelf" mufflers. Magnaflow, Borla or Corsa. Hell, Flowmaster or even Cherry Bomb! I want to see what these can do the exhaust note. Obviously, it's a bit more work but I like experimenting and this seems like a safe and engaging experiment.
Haven't decided what to go for but I'll figure something out.
