Yesterday out of no where my steering became really heavy like the p/s pump was disconnected as I went to pull out of the drive way. I popped the hood and the belt was on and the res. was full, the lines were on and dry (both new 6 months ago), the rack appears to be in good order, no leakage boots.
I did catch the pump moaning last week, once and checked the fluid to make sure it was good and it was full, but that is the only thing that has happened.
Is there any kind of a check valve that goes bad outside of the pump itself?
Do the pumps just die like that or is this something else ?
