E46 328i Starting trouble

Hi I'm new on hear and just wondered if anyone has any ideas....

I have a 1999 328i manual, I've put a low milage engine in works perfect, starter motor, yet it's still not starting first time when I crank it yet I can leave it for ten minutes then it will start ,anyone have any ideas would be great thanks
