Bad feel when shifting and soft clutch

Hi guys. So I am having a few concerns, When shifting, there is a lot a mechanical feel into the shifter. I understand that these cars should have the soft mushy feel but I don't get that. It almost feels like I can feel the gears through the shifter. Now, the clutch fluid is still filled but for some reason my clutch is feeling a bit softer now. The Trans fluid was replaced 500 miles ago. Does anyone know if my trans is going out, or maybe I need a shifter rebuild and wth is going on with the clutch? Thanks
