I thought this was a fascinating article I thought I would share. This lady worked for the Texas Department of Corrections and witnessed a ton of executions. Long but interesting article. I thought this quote below that is on the last page of the article was very telling.
“There is a difference between supporting the death penalty as a concept and being the person who actually watches its application. Being human, I knew there were bound to be cracks in the veneer. I just thought somehow it wouldn’t happen to me.”
