I recently had a flat tyre on my 2000 E46 323CI.
The tyres were 245/35 ZR17 front & back. The spare wheel is some space saving thing, ugly looking with some weird size like 125/85 R16.
Anyway, spent two days with the spare and noticed that the traction control would sometimes flash and cut the engine power of the car. Not in 1st gear but 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Putting the gear in neutral and back in gear would usually fix it. Or else pressing the ASC button and then pressing it again seems to help too.
Yesterday I replaced both front tyres to 225/45 R17. The rear remain 245/35 ZR17. The problem remains.
Someone told me I should replace the rear tyres to 245/40 R17 to fix it but I thought i'd ask a second opinion before I go ahead.
