Oldie but newbie from Canberra

Having acquired my first BMW, a nice blue (wish it was silver) 2008 320ci, just before my 85th birthday this year readers may think I'm nuts. But I've always been interested in cars and bikes and am currently restoring a '79 Porsche 924 on club plates as a weekend driver. Over the past decade or so I've had successively three various Mercs and two Lexus ES3000s. The E46 is about the best so far and with 140k on the clock. I've had to replace a few parts such as fuel pumps/gaskets etc. My 65 yr wife left Canberra for Bendigo Vic (an 8hr drive) at 4 am last Friday, visited family members, and was back 7pm Sunday! I instructed her on use of cruise control over the phone and she loved it!
