Long story short my deal with a company to pay for my apartment in Miami fell through. I'm a single 34 YO male who is a technical architect/director. I have been in Boston for 13 years and sick of it (people and weather).
My family is in VA area but I don't like the area that much. I must get a security clearance to get any jobs I like and the salary is not as competitive.
I'm having a hard time deciding where to move to. Job is not a problem, I can find jobs easily in all major tech hub cities. I get depressed in grey weather, I turned down an offer from Amazon in Seattle for that reason. My current company has offices in Chicago, NY, and Denver. But all of these cities don't appeal to me. Maybe Chicago but it's so damn cold.
I want a place that I can settle down in, with sunny weather, diverse, buy a house down the road, and meet a well educated attractive woman. So far I can only think of Bay area in CA. I got an offer from Nike in Reno NV but after reading city reviews I'm not thrilled about it.
Where would you live if you were in my shoes? My move should be easy, no house to sell, just M3 to sell or move with me. Just pack and move.
