After a couple years of travelling at the expense of not being able to afford a decent car I'm finally looking to buy a 330Ci coupe (in the near future). I was wondering if anyone had information on the highest kms that buying one would be sensible, considering the following.
granted I find one in good condition -I'll be spending most of my money straight away on preventative maintenance (control arm reinforcement, VANOS seal kit, belts and pulleys, cooling etc. more suggestions welcome)
However I'll be doing this in hopes of making 180 - 200 rwkW further down the track without breaking the bank too hard ($3-6k) with headers, cams, AA ECU map (again suggestions welcome) and then suspension upgrades will come along the way -though I'm pretty confident with suspension from what I've seen on here already.
What I want to know is how old a car would you buy, knowing it would be daily driven and occasionally taken to the track, and does anyone have experience getting any decent power out of the M54b30 without spending an absolute bucketload.
