Journal - Restoration of an E46

I bought this used BMW cheap to cure my itch for another bimmer to drive in Yangon. Despite being relatively in good condition compared to other used cars I have seen, it still came with a handful of issues.

1. Every single rubber seal that could wear out, wore out; and can leak, is leaking!


2. The driver side glass window doesn't work.


3. There is a check light showing for rear right light bulbs.


4. The the gearbox gaskets are so old that the gear oil is actually leaking through.


5. There seems to be an overheating problem.


6. The shock absorbers seem dead.


7. The car is really sluggish on throttle response, handling, gear shifts.


8. The BMW wheel caps on the rims are missing


9. The front BMW emblem is cracked.


10. The car has really horrible tinting film, that makes it nearly invisible to drive!


11. The headlight angel eyes are blue. Yes, BLUE. Not kidding.


12. The list goes on..

This is a beginning of a project car for me.
