Painted 19" OEM wheels titanium silver.

These wheels had three problems:

  • a bad plastidip job 'stained' the face of the wheel

  • multiple cases of curb rash

  • failing clear coat

The process.

  1. Remove plastidip (1.25 hours). Soak in WD-40 and finger f**k them with a rag.

  2. Clean with wax/grease remover.

  3. Scuff with grey scuff pad.

  4. Mask off the inner dark grey spokes (1.5 hours).

  5. Sand out curbed lips and apply primer where sanded (1.5 hours).

  6. Apply BMW titanium silver base coat (20 minutes).

  7. Wait 10 min. for basecoat to dry, then remove tape from inner spokes.

  8. Apply clear coat (15 min).
