Short version:
Does anyone know where I could find the weight of the m52b25TU and m54b30 engines and gearboxes, with associated running hardware? I gave google a tickle and found nothing concrete.
Long version:
Im jotting down ideas on the future on my car and Im happy with it now except for its lack of urgency in the speed department.
I have the m52b25TU engine. Its a nice engine and gets good fuel economy but its pushing upwards of 240oooKm. I'm sure it will last me a few more years. Im stuck with an Auto as on the odd occasion my partner has to drive it. At short notice I would stick another m52b25 in there and the engineering and "purity" factor of staying with BMW and going to a m54b30 with a nice exhaust and an good cold air intake (for sound purposes only) and be quite happy with it. If I stay with the m52b25 id consider a turbo conversion.
Problem. The cost of the conversion due to parts price means I could quite easily do a turbo JDM conversion. These parts are cheap and its my background, I know my way around a Nissan or a Toyota.
I figure timing will be my biggest issue (im very busy) but given the right circumstance it would come down to cost/power/ease.
What kind of weight is there in the stock running gear?
thanks a bunch in advance guys if you can help me. In the mean time ill be trawling this site
