Intermittent Starting Issue

I did a search and have a symptom that I can't seem to find a thread directly on point about. The car starts just fine when it is cold in the mornings or if I turn the car off and then turn it back on within the next few minutes. But when I drive it somewhere and leave it off for a few hours and then go to start it, it takes several cranks before it will turn over and start.

For diagnostic purposes - the battery tested as good earlier this afternoon right after I had the starting issue. I am not showing any warning lights (though I have not had a chance to check to see if there are any codes not throwing a light). Car has 66k miles and I believe the fuel filter and plugs are original (new ones are already on order).

I've read that a faulty crankshaft position sensor can cause long crank starting issues, but all of the threads I read had this long crank issue chronically and mine only happens when the car has been run and then sits for 30 mins +.

The car runs fine otherwise - no idle surging, no hesitation on acceleration, no stalling, fuel pump sounds good, etc. Any thoughts on what might be the culprit?
