I have a head scratcher. My 330xi dies Sunday. I was driving and it sputtered a few times and dies. I thought cuz I was low on gas. Said 10 miles till empty. I try cranking, it turns over but its dead. not ever an almost start. I go get gas, put it in, and starts. So Phew.....no biggy.
Today leaving work, get in, cranks, but doesn't start. PHUK!!! I had my code reader, said lets see..nothing. Cranking, cranking and about to call tow truck when it dawns, I have a half tank but let me crack the fuel cap. I open it. What I call normal pressure whooshes out. Close it, get back in, crank and wallah it starts.
So now I think relieving the pressure both times has something to do with the cause. Can the EVAP system cause it not to start?
