Did ZF ever fix/update its auto trans A5S325z for the broken D-clutch drum fault?

Gday,

I've been reading up on the GM vs ZF tranny and their problems of "no reverse" but with two very different causes, of which i understand.

My question is did ZF ever correct this fault (the d-clutch drum breaking) in any of its later A5S325z transmissions ?

Example - say ZF knew about the problem in 2000, and made improvements to this part, hence a ZF trans from say sept 2004 build date would have the improved design, assuming ZF did update / fix the problem.

I know updated replacement clutch drums are available on internet etc, for anyone rebuilding a trans etc but i guess im asking if later model e46 cars eg a 9/2004 325i may have a ZF trans with the problem d clutch drum fixed during its manufacture.

reason i ask - I looked at a tidy 325i 09/2004 the other day regarding buying it but it had the ZF tranny (checked under car myself and realoem also had it with a zf tranny)

Thanks
