i bought a mazda3 sport month or so ago
i've read tranny problems can be found on these cars
i've done some digging , stock atf fluid is mazda m-v, this is not mercon v, it's mazdas own fluid and is complete garbage,20k!! and it is jet black, with metallic "sand" in bottom of pail , AND , there is no serviceable filter
you can flush it out and replace with castrol transmax import multi vehicle atf using the on engine pump
but do not use mercon v, even tho these trannys don't seem to be too picky, i see alot using the mercon v , however , it is wrong , the confusion lies with mazda naming it's oe fluid m-v
imo, it's the stock fluid that's the problem
i would do this asap if i were you, and when it turns black, drain and refill , every car has it's weak points , this is the first i've found on this car
