I drive a manual 1999 323i with 120,000 and a few weeks back I got into a minor accident/fight with a lightpost, 10 mph crash and the only mechanical damage was the air condenser and radiator. Insurance needed a full frontal tear down to access the damage.
I get the car back and logged about 30 miles on the car in 3 different trips nothing fancy, had my winters installed and was fine for about four days. On day four(friday) the car had been sitting at work for 5 hours, I hopped in the car to grab lunch and noticed the engine light. The shop happens to be a few hundred yards away so I dropped it off, was told it was throwing an engine misfire code but I was told the light turned off by itself and they didn't notice any problems. Car drove the mile home just fine and was told to just watch the car over the next few days.
This morning I turned on the car, and right away noticed it was idling a little rough, engine light turned back on so I shut it off, called up my buddy with an OBD sensor and here is where I'm at now:
P1188- Fuel control B1 S1
P0304- Cyl 4 misfire
P1185- Fuel Control B2 S1
P0170- Fuel Trim B1
P0173- Fuel Trim B2
P0305- Cylinder 5 misfire
P0306- Cylinder 6 misfire
I'm taking the car to my local BMW shop monday but I'd like to see what I'm in for. I hope its just a bad connection or ground but I honestly don't know my way around a BMW engine bay yet. I've tooled around on e30s and jeeps but this is all new to me. If anyone has any advice or experience with this issue it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
