After months of being stuck on my drive with no reverse gear finding the money for the repair (£1920 transmission overhaul with Bristol Transmissions) I finally have my 330ci back on the road. Had to have it winched off my near vertical drive where back in September the reverse gear finally gave up.
At one point I tried selling it with no luck, and my dad sold me his M sport 1 series auto. That was I think the worst car I have driven for a while. Horrible feel to it, nasty clunky auto box, go kart suspension, almost no traction trying to reverse up a hill where I live. I suddenly realised how much I love that E46. When I had my c330 finally winched off the drive I took it out for a spin (with no reverse) and after the 1 series it felt so smooth, so easy and effortless and so much better. Amazing. I never really appreciated what a brilliant car it is.
Still got a few more jobs to do but hopefully nothing as expensive as the reverse gear.
