rust on cams!

Hello all.



I recently purchased a 323ic in a mid head job. Putting everything back together and I notice from the valve cover not being bolted down there is slight rust buildup on the cams from the weather. Should I take them out and clean them up or would they be ok if I just did an oil change slightly after I get it back together. Timing is all done and all. Just pondering the situation before I finish what was started. Thanks in advance!
