Rain drips into trunk from opened lid

Hi Folks,



Just acquired a very clean 2004 325Ci with 60k miles.



Now that the winter rains have returned to San Francisco, I am experiencing rain draining off the right and left edges of the trunk lid (along the light bezel), directly into the opened trunk.



Is this a design flaw, or is something else wrong?
