The remote key fob I have with my 2001 325ci does not work well. I know it needs to be replaced, but am having to fix other issues before I plunk down $180 at the stealership for a new one. I'm not able to lock or unlock car with it.
I have noticed that if the door is not locked, the rear license plate light remains on. Is this supposed to stay on? Once I lock the door, the light goes off.
Would be good to know if this was supposed to happen.
