I have a bmw e46 318d and the mileage is 224,000 and trade in value is only £400.. And i have spend **** loads of money on the car which isnt worth me selling. So I was wondering to get a new engine in it once it starts dying on me, It hasnt got any problems yet but I am thinking ahead. I have changed flywheel and clutch, exhaust system (Standard but new) and the turbo refurbished.
I was wondering to change the engine to a 330d engine as I have seen few people on youtube that have done it and people have said its possible. Also e46 and 5 series e62 are same engines so was wondering to fit a 3.0 diesel engine?
Would this work or will it give me problems in the future? This way my insurance wouldnt go high either as they wouldnt know about whats under the bonnet unless one of you guys work for my insurance company :shhh:
